What is “Integrated Business Planning” (IBP)?
It is a system that helps organizations that consists of synchronizing business, financial and supply chain plans since it helps these departments have better communication and can all be connected thus avoiding misinterpretations, so all staff can see the information and work together without leaving all this work to one person.

What is “Sales and Operations Planning” (S&OP)?
It is a tool that helps organizations since it has different departments with different occupations that have to be continuously reviewed, this tool helps the company grow and minimize costs since it helps to coordinate personnel and time, which is a great challenge. in the same way it also helps to have better communication between all departments within the company

 

 

What are the similarities between IBP and S&OP? Mention and describe them.
I believe that the similarities between these are that both help the company to be more communicated both internally and externally with all staff and that everyone knows the information with which they are working.

 

 

 

What are the differences between IBP and S&OP? Mention and describe them.
The difference is that one is more focused on the issue of the commercial and financed departments and the other covers the entire company, including suppliers.

 

 

 

 How does the IBP process work? Describe in detail.
This process consists of exchanging information smoothly and in a synchronized way, the important thing is to have a consensus plan that helps with forecasting of income, risk margin and opportunities.

The challenges here are helping executives derive useful insights to improve decision making.

 

 

 

 

Which are the most common difficulties/problems when implementing IBP? Mention them and  provide examples. 
I think that one of the difficulties of this system is that it only works being connected to the network, but at the same time I do not see it as much of a problem since we have internet in all places, maybe another problem or serious difficulty for someone to arrive to infiltrate this system and obtain data that is only from the organization and cause some problema.

 

 

 

What are the advantages and disadvantages of IBP?

Some of the advantages that the IBP has are that it helps to create better returns in the company helping to improve areas of opportunity and thus have a better supply plan, another would be to achieve better communication between all the departments of the company, incorporate all employees in the planning process and minimize costs in the organization.

 

 

 

What is the importance of IBP nowadays?
It is very important within an organization because thanks to this tool, organizations can grow more and have more opportunities, and in the same way minimizing the time and work of the employees that, as we saw in the example of the video, a single person being in charge All the information was very exhausting apart from the fact that there could be areas of opportunity that that person could not control, instead now with an IBP all the areas are connected and if there were to be an error, perhaps in another department they would notice it and this would be corrected, in addition that having a system like this is part of a great globalization with which we are living, companies will be increasingly globalized and the need for these tools is very important, as this tool was developed there are thousands of others that make the companies will be more useful and productive.
